Bagged
Yard Waste
January 25, 2006
Notice: Due to health, manpower and environmental issues related to the use of plastic bags, effective immediately the Public Works Department will require residents to use only biodegradable bags for the disposal of grass clippings, leaves and garden trash. This will allow the Public Works Department to compost these items directly with the brush we collect and will eliminate the need for the bags to be opened and emptied upon arrival at our composting facility. As in years past, bags should weigh no more than 50 pounds and must be kept free of any and all kinds of garbage.
Bags of grass, weeds, and leaves may be picked up free of
charge by calling the Public Works/Service Department at
831-3712. All grass and leaves must be bagged using only biodegradable
brown paper bags (plastic bags will not be picked up) and should weigh no more
than 50 pounds. Please be sure to keep yard trash free of
garbage of any kind so that these materials may be properly
composted by the Public Works/Service Department.

Brush Removal
Brush should be cut in lengths of 6-8 ft. and uniformly
stacked. Please be sure to stack brush in an area free
of obstructions where it is easily accessible to our
truck and loader. It is advisable to keep brush stacked
either on or near your driveway. This eliminates problems
that arise due to wet weather and allows the Service
Department to remove your brush in a timely fashion.
The service charge for most brush removal is based
on a fee of $70.00 per hour with a minimum charge per
pickup of $10.00 for the first 15 minutes and $20.00
every 15 minutes thereafter. Please contact the Service
Department at 831-3712 to be placed on the brush removal
list.

services or tree companies include the removal of brush
or yard waste as part of their contract agreement.
